Canby High School is hiring an Extra Duty Theater Music Director to begin Winter 2024-5. This is a non-district funded position contingent upon fundraised dollars.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to work successfully with high school students, families, school staff, and the public
- Ability to perform extra duty responsibilities in accordance with school and district procedures and policies.
- Knowledge of emergency first aid procedures; current first aid card or willingness to obtain one required
- Ability to meet criminal records requirements of the state of Oregon
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position
Essential Functions
- 1. Lead a musical theatre audition workshop prior to the musical auditions.
- 2. Lead music rehearsals for the spring musical and support the learning of the student performers
- 3. If necessary for the production, lead music rehearsals for the show’s instrumentalists and conduct for
- performances.
- 4. Work with the Theater Director to achieve a cohesive vision for the production
- 5. Consult with the Technical Specialist on sound needs for the show.

In addition to salary, the Canby School District pays the employee's 6% contribution to PERS (retirement account), if applicable. Applicant agrees to assume cost and arrange for FINGERPRINT-BASED CRIMINAL RECORDS CHECK upon offer of employment ($10-$20 at printing; $66 payroll deduction).
